As per CBK’s Decision No. 2023/470/45 and Ministerial Decision No. 86 of 2023, it is now mandatory for individuals engaged in home-based commercial activities to obtain a valid commercial license by October 3, 2023, to ensure compliance with the updated regulations and to prevent any potential account suspension.

The process of obtaining the license
Merchants can easily apply for the license through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s website. The application process takes just about 5 minutes, and licenses will be issued within 24 hours.
- Steps to Follow:
Visit the Ministry of Commerce’s website.
Choose “Log in—Individual User".
Enter the civil ID and authenticate through the “Hawiyati” app.
Click on “Electronic Services”, and select “Establishment of Private Companies" (Application for the Establishment of a Company with Special Nature).
Send a copy of the license to Tap Payments Company via WhatsApp at 97597777 or through email at onboarding.kw@tap.company by October 3, 2023.
Licensing Requirements:
The activities of your businesses must align with the list of permitted activities.
The owner should be of Kuwaiti nationality.
The license holder (authorized) must be the manager of the company.
