What is the difference between direct payment flow and redirect payment flow?

Modified on Mon, 19 Feb at 8:56 AM

Direct payment flow is when you collect your customer’s payment details and the purchase is successful without them having to leave your website. Along with Amex and credit card payments such as Visa or MasterCard following the direct payment flow, Mada (the local payment method in Saudi) also follows this payment flow.

In redirect payment flows, after clicking purchase they’ll be redirected to the payment method’s website to enter their card details, verify their identity and complete their payment. This flow is used by most of the local payment methods in the Middle East such as KNET, BENEFIT, Meeza, OmanNet, and NAPS(QPay).
